General Procedures Offered

We strive to provide our patients with the latest minimally invasive surgeries and procedures to treat their urologic conditions and diseases.

Ureteroscopy with Holmium laser lithotripsy is used to break apart kidney stones that were not passed and remain in the ureter.

ESWL, or extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, is where shock waves from outside the body are targeted at a kidney stone causing the stone to fragment.

An array of scrotal procedures are performed to treat patients’ needs.

Circumcision is the surgical removal of the skin covering the tip of the penis.

Cystoscopy is a procedure used to look at the inside of the bladder and urethra with a cystoscope, a thin tube with a light and a lens or video camera on the end.

A prostate biopsy is a procedure to where samples of suspicious tissue is removed from the prostate.

Vasectomy, also known as male sterility, is a procedure that cuts and seals the tubes that carry sperm.

BPH Treatment Options & Procedures Offered

Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is a surgical procedure used to treat urinary issues that are caused by an enlarged prostate.

Urolift is a minimally invasive BPH treatment that uses small implants to hold open the obstructed pathway that’s blocking urine flow—addressing the blockage, not just continuously treating enlarged prostate (BPH) symptoms.

Rezūm Water Vapor Therapy treats the source of an enlarged prostate (BPH). This short, in-office procedure uses the natural energy stored in a few drops of water to shrink the prostate, so urine can flow freely.

Erectile Dysfunction: Causes & Symptoms

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) affects 50% of men over the age of 40, with more significant dysfunction over each decade of life. This ultimately can have a significant impact on quality of life for the man and his partner.

On occasion, ED can be the first sign of other silent medical conditions, such as cardiovascular disease or diabetes. Other factors associated with ED include smoking, hypertension, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, minimal physical activity, stress and chronic alcoholism or drug abuse.

Even if you feel great, except for your erectile dysfunction, it is warranted to review any risk factors with a careful medical assessment (exam, blood work, etc.)

Erectile Dysfunction Treatment Options

We are proud to offer comprehensive non-surgical treatment options for Erectile Dysfunction in our Southern California based clinics in the cities of Temecula and Encinitas. Following an initial consultation with our skilled board-certified Urologist, a treatment plan will be devised and reviewed with you to determine the best course of action.

Non-surgical treatment options for Erectile Dysfunction include the following:

Lifestyle Changes

Regardless of what treatment is ultimately chosen to improve sexual function, attention to adopting a healthy diet and exercise regimen is indicated to optimize results. Our team approach provides access to a certified personal trainer and registered dietitian. We also will advise our patients on use of nutritional supplements sourced from high quality vendors.

Oral Medication

The “blue pill” and similar drugs have a place in appropriate treatment. The key is knowing how and when they should be used, and we utilize proprietary formulas of these medications where appropriate.

PRP-Shot

The PRP-Shot consists of taking platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your own blood and injecting it into your penis to promote tissue growth. By doing so, men can experience better erections by way of increased blood flow, improved nerve sensation, greater stamina during sexual intercourse and beyond.

Intra-Cavernosal Injections

This therapy involves injecting a blend of liquid agents with a small needle at the base of the penis causing increase of blood flow to the penis within minutes. Care is needed to titrate the dosage and use the best formulation to achieve the desired results.

Low Testosterone: Causes & Symptoms

Optimize your testosterone levels and regain your youth at United Urology. We are experienced and passionate about offering effective Low Testosterone treatments for male patients who suffer from the range of issues that low testosterone can present.

Testosterone is a hormone produced by the body that is responsible for many things, including the development of men’s sexual organs and the maintenance of many other functions in the body that affect a man’s sexual health and sense of well-being.

Testosterone levels affect many things for a man, including but not limited to his sex drive, energy levels, moods, weight management, work performance, and more. Testosterone naturally begins to gradually decline in men beginning at the age of 30. Lab testing for testosterone is helpful but doesn’t tell the whole story. The amount of free testosterone circulating in the body can be affected by lifestyle (exercise and diet regimen) and medical conditions.

Low testosterone is intimately related to a man’s sexual health. Symptoms of low testosterone include:

-Decreased sex drive
-Less energy
-Sexual dysfunction
-Weight gain
-Low self-esteem
-Moodiness
-Reduced muscle mass and strength
-Impaired concentration/memory

Many of the symptoms that low testosterone can present are mirrored in other medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic pain, depression and obesity.

How We Can Help With Low Testosterone

We are proud to offer multiple effective treatment options to optimize your testosterone levels. Following an initial consultation with our skilled board-certified Urologist, a treatment plan will be devised and reviewed with you to determine the best course of action.

Treatment options for low testosterone include the following:

Injections

Testosterone injections are performed by the patient at home and injected intramuscular. The frequency of the injections is dependent upon each patient individually, however, most patients administer injections weekly or biweekly.

Pellets

Testosterone pellets are bio-identical that are inserted underneath the skin in the rear. Testosterone pelleting is done in-office. The frequency of this treatment option is unique to each patient, however, the average frequency is 3-6 months.

Gel

Testosterone gel is a form of treatment in which the gel is applied daily to an area of the skin to allow absorption into the bloodstream.
